I greatly disliked sweetened condensed milk.

Your recipe is superior

But food is a keen traveler. Where would Italian food be without the tomato from the New World or the starving ppl of Europe who were saved by the potato from Peru?

The French must have adapted the concept of the New World flan into something better though condensed milk was not part of the equation back then ..

Ha! Yes, I know what you mean. That’s sweeten condensed milk is just so sweet! I only use it for Keylime pie because nothing sets it like that and the acid in the lime really does chill it out ha!

Ha! Yes it is! But flan is made with sweetened condensed milk and eggs, whereas Creme Caramel is made with regular Milk, Cream and eggs. But yes they are very similar, but I have to say I think the texture of Creme Caramel is better!

This is my dad’s favourite dessert! We usually just buy ready made in the shops (near the yoghurt/chilled desserts section). But I would love to attempt making it myself! Thanks for the recipe! 🩷
