This is usually the week to finalize your Thanksgiving Menu and get “The Plan” in action. So, as you are finalizing your selections, might I share these favorites for your consideration?
Let’s count them down!
Number #10 Brussels Sprouts Salad
If you are craving Brussels Sprouts but don’t have the oven space to roast them, turn them into my shaved Brussels Sprout Salad instead! Most of the components can be made a day ahead, and all you have to do is toss and serve!
Number #9 Foolproof Apple Pie
There is a lot that can go wrong with apple pie! Soggy crust and uncooked apples come to mind. If you’re a beginner and you want to hit it out of the park this year, impress your friends and family with my Foolproof Apple Pie Recipe! I’ll walk you through my 10 tips for success!
Number #8: Grazing Board
Let’s face it: appetizers at Thanksgiving can be tricky because the oven is already in use! That’s why I love the concept of a Grazing Board, which you can just set and forget! They also work later on for Christmas Parties too! I’ll show you my savory and sweet options.
Number#7 White Chocolate Cranberry Cookies
Need a dessert for a potluck? Or a host gift? You cannot go wrong with my White Chocolate Cranberry Cookies! They are chewy on the inside and crispy at the edges. The white chocolate and dried cranberries create a decadent yet tart flavor sensation that is right at home with the season.
Number #6 Fresh Green Bean Casserole
This Green Bean Casserole was the hit at my Thanksgiving table last year. An updated “from scratch version” of the old-time classic, you’ll see how using fresh ingredients makes it taste a whole lot better!
Number #5 Corn Casserole
Skip the cornbread this year and try this fantastic Corn Casserole instead! It has the flavor of cornbread with the texture of a souffle! You can make the batter the day before, then bake it off while your turkey rests!
Number #4 Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars
Need a pumpkin dessert for your office potluck? Try these! Rich and decadent Pumpkin Cheesecake bars are easy to make the day ahead, and that gingersnap crust is just to die for! You can keep them sliced as squares or slice each square diagonally to make triangles to feed more people.
Number #3 Easy Garlic Knots with Pizza Dough
Dreaming of “homemade bread,” but the thought of a yeasted bread at Thanksgiving is too much to bear? I hear ya! Grab some store-bought pizza dough (Trader’s Joes makes a great one!) and whip these Garlic Knots up while your turkey rests! They will fly off your buffet table!
Number #2 Easy Apple Crisp
No time for messing around with Pie dough? Try this Apple Crisp instead! Just as comforting and luxurious as an apple pie, but way easier! It also travels well if you are looking for a low-fuss dessert to bring! Just pop it in the oven to reheat before you sit down to dinner.
Number #1: Baked Brie with Fig Jam
This Baked Brie with Fig Jam is always on display at Thanksgiving because you can just sneak this little skillet in with the Turkey as it roasts until the cheese is soft and melted! The result is a gooey, decadent appetizer that will keep everyone happy while their Turkey roasts. Toast the bread before you put the turkey in, and keep at room temperature until ready to serve.
Those recipes look really good. Especially the Apple Crisp.
Beth, I made the corn casserole for a Friendsgiving potluck today. It was light and delicious. Thx so much. Jeannie (Hilton Head)
