What a great video. I also have a small place in Europe, a small town in the North of Spain. Getting to or from there is “planes, trains and automobiles”! It’s amazing how we can adapt to the inconveniences. Although it was easier when I was young! You are always an inspiration. Thanks for the great content. BTW, you look amazing in the Glam—do! I bet hubby will love it.
Ha! Oh it's so true, as we were doing that day of travel I kept thinking is this really quicker from France? Then the USA? Ha! But then, I found a little Spanish Airline that goes DIRECT from Nantes to Florence! Do you know them? Are they legit? Ha! https://www.volotea.com/en/
Hi Beth, I always enjoy your videos and getting to see when you do things with your daughters is so lovely (because I have kids too and dream of one day taking them to Europe when they are older). Would you consider doing a video or blogpost about how different schooling is for your youngest when school starts? For starters, you won’t be making packed lunches for her (or can you still?)? I read that they eat three course lunches made on school premises in France and mostly would organic produce. Which is nothing like school lunches in US or Canada where I grew up.
Yes I'm planning on doing a blog post about this, because I have heard the lunch program is great too! In fact when my husband touring the school, they gave him a tasting LOL! Can you just imagine? Ha! I've also heard they post the menu outside each day so parents can plan their menu for dinner (making sure they don't serve similar things) so thoughtful!
Another wonderful video that I may have already watched a few times since Saturday. :) Can I just say that your daughter has nothing to be shy of in front of the camera - she is absolutely stunning! Make sure that she sees this comment! :) Such a wonderful little visit and plenty of time for mom and first-born daughter to bond together! The “getting there” part was a bit exhausting but it sure looked like a great trip! 💕
Such a fun video chock-full of great recommendations! I would love to visit Florence someday. My husband and I visited Rome and Venice 11 years ago and only saw Florence as the train went through it. Those trains! Yes, we were lugging our big American suitcases, and we may or may not have been on a train with a goat, lol! Or maybe that was just a movie, either way, it was a bit crazy😅
So glad you guys found an apartment for her, and nice to know she's not a continent and ocean away. Helps the mama's heart a bit. Hope the rest of your summer won't be quite so hot! Of course being by the coast helps. We are bracing for another heatwave next week. Sorry for the rambling! Love your videos 😄
It's SO true Kimberly those American sized suitcases have no business on European trains! Ha! I've totally learned my lesson! And YES not being an ocean away soothes the heart and mind! And now I found a direct flight! :) All the better!! So glad you enjoy the videos!!
I really enjoyed your walk-around tour of Florence, Beth. It was fun peaking into shops, museums, and galleries, and getting to appreciate all the tasty-looking, wholesome food on offer at the many comfortable, welcoming looking restaurants. What a fun way to enjoy the uniqueness of a beautiful, old city—by taking a perfume making class or a cooking class. And, as you described it with your quiet, gentle narration, I could feel the softness of the Italian leather and appreciate the elegance and beauty of Italian clothing and shoe styles. The architecture is there for anyone to see but you did a wonderful job of capturing the beautiful light and ambiance of the city during your morning stoles. Thank you so much for sharing this special time with your daughter as, together, you both helped each other take those steps during at an important time in hers and your life.
It's so true Jim, you just hit the nail on the head when you said "help each other" because her excitement for this next stage of life, helps me not feel so sad about it! Her excitement is contagious that I forget she is leaving :( LOL! Great tactic!!
I loved this video you daughter is so beautiful
