Is there anything more comforting than a baked custard dessert? A Far Breton is a French dessert recipe that comes from the Brittany region of France. It’s a favorite in my husband’s family and every time we are in France having a big family lunch, someone has brought a Far Breton for dessert.
Warm or Chilled?
This can be a moment of debate. But personally, we love to eat this dessert chilled. The flavor is more pronounced and the texture is just divine when it’s nice and cold. It’s an easy recipe to make for entertaining because all you have to do is slice and serve.
It’s similar to a Cherry Clafoutis (or try Apricot Clafoutis which is also good too!) but a Far Breton is thicker and denser, and just absolutely delicious!
