I remember that when I was growing up on the East Coast, summer didn’t officially begin until after Memorial Day. Once it had passed, all summer activities would commence!
This would mean freshly minted beach stickers (yes this was a thing, you had to have a sticker to park at the beach. They changed color from year to year to weed out any freeloaders!) fresh blueberry muffins were made, white pants were now “allowed”, and big bags of Kingsford charcoal were hauled home in the back of our old Grand Torino Station Wagon.

This brings me to this recipe. My Fall-off-the-Bone Sticky Ribs. A classic in the EWB archives. It has remained the most visited page on my website for years, and it will also be featured in my soon-to-be-released cookbook!
(I had to include a few EWB Fan Favorites in the book and this one along with my Banana Bread Recipe were at the top of the list!)
Every summer, someone discovers this rib recipe for the first time, and I get a comment like this:
Wow, Wow, the best ribs I ever had. I had 2 guests for supper tonight and was keeping my fingers crossed that it would be good. The two men that were here for dinner loved the ribs. They kept commenting how good and tender they were. They were not too sweet, they were so tender even the thickest part of the ribs. I am changing my recipe to yours….Thank you so much. Bravo also for the presentation with sesame seeds and green onions!

A Few Go-With Items:
Round out your ribs with my Classic Potato Salad and for dessert try my Easy Plum Crumble. Plums not yet in season? Try this equally delicious Blackberry Crumble.
For a warm side dish try this Corn Pudding recipe it’s to-die-for with the ribs! And for dessert a great addition would be this fantastic Roasted Peach Cobbler recipe!
HAPPY SUMMER! xxoo

One of my favorite aspects of learning any language is understanding the casual expressions of daily life. They teach me a great deal about the culture and what they value.
We had the same wagon, but in classic 1970’s olive green. No seatbelts, no speed limit, no problem!! 😉
Hello Beth, I got your cookbook yesterday and was simply thrilled! It is just as I expected…perfect in every way. In fact, I couldn’t love it more, and I can even hear you speak and giggle through your written words. Thank you! And, thank you for the years I have had the opportunity to follow you and your adventures.
