These apple cinnamon pastries are the perfect fall morning breakfast treat. Simple to make, and the best part is they can be made ahead of time and baked right before serving! How great is that?!
They are also a great quick fix for when you are craving the flavors of an Apple Pie or French Apple Tart without all the work of these desserts! For another great apple treat for a chilly fall morning, try my Apple Cider Pancakes!
Guests are always impressed by these because they look very complicated, but truth be told, they are super simple to make. They would be a great idea for Christmas morning too! The in-laws would be very impressed!
What Brand Of Puff Pastry Is Best?
I find the best brand of puff pastry to use for this recipe is Pepperidge Farm (The Puff Pastry Sheets) because it’s already scored into panels, making it really easy to slice into rectangles and fill with the apple mixture. No measuring involved! And their uniform size will also help them bake at the same rate.
The “Make-Ahead” Part:
Assemble the pastries the day before on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper (egg wash and everything), then cover loosely with foil and pop them in the fridge or freezer. Then remove the foil and bake the day of your party.
No need to defrost either! Just pop them right in the oven from the freezer or refrigerator.
Don’t Forget The Frosting!
Moments before serving, drizzle with a little frosting on top!
Allow the pastries to sit for a few moments to set, it will be less sticky that way.
Alternatively, you can skip the frosting and dust with a little powdered sugar instead. That would also be good!
Sounds really good
That recipe looks good I have to try those.
